Friday Favorites!

It's Friday! This is our first Friday of break, and that means we are BEACHING IT! Now that our co-op is over, our bible study is over, and 4H and piano are basically over, we are just tying up some loose ends in our school year, mostly a few math pages and finishing a chapter book. That totals about 30 minutes of "school" a day, which equals 23 1/2 hours of FREEDOM a day! WooHoo! Beach days ahead, baby! So here we go, in no particular order...my favorites of the week:

Numero uno - READING! I have forgotten how much relief I find in a good book. I have found some GOOD books this month, and I can't wait to share them with you at the end of the month! It's gotten to the point where my husband is saying "Wow! I had no idea that you had so much time to read!" and I quickly correct him. I don't have time, I just ignore my other responsibilities. Like sleep.

Formula 10.0.6! Love this stuff. It's super inexpensive, and it gets the job done. I am a stress break-er out-er. First time in my life I've ever dealt with any blemishes, thanks to my three sweet peas. I am ALSO a stress shopper, and last Wednesday, I marched myself right into Ulta, where I resolved BOTH of my stressy issues :) Love this stuff. Love to shop. Love clear skin, Amen.

So this one is less of a favorite, and more of a potential favorite. Have any of you ever heard of "Kids Calm"? My boy is a nutcase. I now fear him and his energy. So do my other two kiddos. He is beyond rambunctious, to the point of hurting himself with his insane energy. My doctor suggested a magnesium supplement, because, lets face it - I can cook as healthy as I want, but that boy will hold out until he gets a cookie. Ain't no way to convince Jesse that kale chips are yummy. He will starve. For real.

Anyway, so I quickly ordered this, thinking "oh, the most expensive one MUST be the best!" and now even three scoops of Ovaltine can't mask the "rotten banana" taste. Anyone have suggestions? I want this to work!

Um...WHY have I forgotten to share this?! I have always loved Mrs. Meyer's products, but do dilute them as the scents are a little overwhelming for my sensitive nose. I love the lavender, but have recently discovered BASIL! Holy cow, now we have basil laundry soap, basil dish detergent, basil counter spray, basil dog shampoo (just kidding!)...

Last but not least, have you read my Mean Mommy post? I had another day, another terrible mean mommy day, and I just have to remember that I have been created in the image of God. I am complete. He has accomplished all that was needed to be able to call me righteous, and even though I don't always feel it, I can choose Him over the "bad mommy" lie a million times a day.

  1. I am in love with Mrs. Meyer's soap. When we returned to Germany I even had a bottle in my suitcase! Next time I will have to try the Basil... usually I get the lavender!

  2. So I'm intrigued by the Formula skin products you mentioned but I have super sensitive skin. Do you think they would work for me? I stress break out too and nothing seems to be working lately!

    1. Yes, I have really sensitive skin, too. It's worth a try, individually, they're only about $6.99 at Ulta!

  3. I have tried the Kids Calm too for daughter #3, and it was a no go...I ended up using Peace and Calming oil from Young Living that worked awesome!! I might have to check out those face products. Sad that I've NEVER been to our Ulta store:/ I like Mrs. Meyer products too, but typically make my own. I did buy the all purpose cleaner, but like you said, the smell is soooo strong!!!

    Happy Friday to you!!

  4. My three year old is a little wild and crazy too! I haven't heard of the Kids Calm, but I am wanting to try EOs this summer! I make my own cleaning products (most of them) but i'll have to check out Mrs. Meyer! And, I totally feel you on being a "mean mommy" I wrote a post about it a few weeks ago: http://www.honeypieaccessories.blogspot.com/2015/02/girl-mom-momster.html
I think it's something all mom's can relate to!
